Ollie Ray Flora, 97, of Flemingsburg, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Pioneer Trace Nursing in Flemingsburg. He was the widower of Nancy Glenn Wells Flora.
Born at Battle Run in Fleming County on February 12, 1929, Ollie Ray was a son of the late Paul J. Flora and the late Maude Moran Flora.
For 30 plus years Ollie Ray had worked as the mill manager for Davenport Farm Supply. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong member of the Battle Run Christian Church where he was an elder. He never met a stranger, loved his church, and loved to talk and tell stories.
Ollie Ray is survived by his son, William (Marilyn) Flora; his stepson, Donnie (Leslie) Moran; his four grandchildren, Jarrod Flora, Shawn Flora, Shana Porter, and Shad Moran; and his eight great grandchildren, Kalen Porter, Cole Porter, Trinity Flora, Ellory Flora, Selby Moran, Logan Moran, Lauren Moran, and Talon Moran. He is also survived by three of his siblings, Eric Flora, Aaron “Tater” Flora, and Marion “Dickie” Flora; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to Nancy, his wife of 67 years who passed in 2020, his mother Maude; his father Paul; Ollie Ray was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Peggy Moran; and seven of his siblings, Edward “Buck” Flora, Samuel Flora, Ovel Flora, Cora Helphinstine, Berry Burke, Nancy Carrie Flora, and Bobbie Flora.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Burnett officiating.
Ollie Ray will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
W. N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Visitation for Ollie Ray will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
