Palmer Pryor Taylor age 93 passed away November 2, 2010 at his home with his love ones by his side. He was the husband of the late Geneva Oney Taylor who passed away August 3rd, 1993. He was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on June 27th, 1917, the seventh son of the late Orville and Emma Farmer Taylor.
He was well known throughout the community. He never met a stranger. He was a man of his word, was honest, and soft spoken. He was a farmer and loved his family and cows. He was a member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Superintendent.
He is preceded in death by one son, Phillip Daniel Taylor. He is survived by 3 daughters, Christine Applegate, Sue Mitchell, Linda (Scott) Manning, 2 sons, Terry (Brenda) Taylor, and Paul (Nellie) Taylor. He is survived by several grandchildren, Shannon (Aspen) Taylor, Wayne (Lisa) Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Christi (Jerry) Kesterson, Paula (Billy) Fryman, Dana Sue (Bo) McVey, and Kelsey Taylor. He is survived by several great grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Chase Taylor, Hannah Kesterson, Ethan Mitchell, Mackenzie Fryman, and Zackary Fryman.
He is preceded in death by son-in-law Clyde Applegate and 7 brothers, Issac, Leonard, Horace, Harm, Donald, Aaron, Neil and 3 sisters, Ethal, Alice, and Jewell. Visitation is at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 5 to 9. Funeral services are Thursday, November 4th at 1:00 pm with Dr. Christopher Beckham officiating. The pallbears are Shannon Taylor, Wayne Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Scott Manning, Jerry Kesterson, Billy Fryman, and Stephen Story. Honorary pallbears are the deacons of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Hope - 909 Kenton Station Dr. Maysville, KY 41056.
