Paloma Smith, 48, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at UK Medical Center.

Born in Torrance, California on January 19, 1976, she was the daughter of Alberto Carranza and Ofelia Sanchez Carranza.

Paloma worked for Comprehend child and family services in Kentucky and California.  She attended the Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Steven Smith; her four children, Mario Smith, Steven Smith Jr., Alan Smith, and Paloma Smith; and her four grandchildren, Delilah, Amara, Kaiya, and Selene.  In addition to her mother Ofelia and her father Alberto, Paloma is survived by her four siblings, Alberto Carranza Jr., Victor Carranza, Mario Carranza, and Elizabeth Carranza; her father-in-law, Bruce Smith; along with many extended family members and friends.

Paloma was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Lois Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Fr. Phil DeVous as celebrant.

Visitation for the public will be 10 a.m., until the hour of service at 11 a.m., Friday, at Saint Charles located at 211 Mount Carmel Avenue, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041.
