Obituary

Pauletta Ellington Conn, 79, of Flemingsburg made Heaven her home on Sunday morning, August 2, 2026. Welcoming her at the gate besides her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was her beloved husband, Sterling Owen Conn; her infant son, Johnny Willis Conn; her father and mother, Harlan and Ruby Hicks Ellington; her nine brothers and sisters: Dorothy Eggers, infant Clinton Ellington, John Ivan Ellington, Beaulah Whitt, Joyce Wright, Eva Mae Weaver, Robert Ellington, Donnie Ellington, and Phillip Ellington; and her infant great-granddaughter Sadie Mae Thompson.

Pauletta was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on March 27, 1947. She was the baby of the family and enjoyed following after her older siblings. She married Sterling in 1961 and made a family with children Paula (Larry) Robinson, Pamela (Sherman) Royse, Patsy (Michael) Adams, and Rob (Christi) Conn.

Pauletta became a Meme with the addition of grandchildren Kimberly (Kevin) Galloway, Ashley (Gary) Kinder, Travis (Katie) Robinson, Sarah (Hayden) Smith, Zachary (Brittany) Adams, Samantha (Cody) Thompson, Shelby (Gabe) Richmond, Zeke Conn and Jesse Conn.

Pauletta was blessed even more with the addition of 12 great grandchildren: Keenan, Kolby, and Korban Galloway; Garrison Kinder; Case Robinson; Owen and Emma Smith; Elliana and Weston Adams; Camilla Thompson; and Elijah and Isaiah Richmond.

Nothing made Pauletta happier than when the family got together for special occasions. She loved snuggling and rocking the newest family members.

Pauletta was a stay-at-home mom when her children were younger. She also babysat several children in the Fox Valley Community. During her career outside the home, Pauletta worked in retail sales at various locations in Flemingsburg: Hecks, Maloney’s, Steve’s True Value, Kibler Lumber, and Hinton Mills. She also worked as a teller for Community Trust Bank.

She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader.

Pauletta loved drinking a good cold Pepsi, reading a good book, rocking and napping with the grands and great-grands, and working in her flower beds.

Funeral services for Pauletta will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Kevin Galloway and Rev. Jim Doughton officiating.

Pauletta will be laid to rest in Newman Cemetery beside her husband Sterling.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., on Thursday August 6, at the funeral home.
