Born in Maysville on August 16, 1940, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Dimmitt Long and the late Ethel Crain Long.
Phyllis worked as a secretary at the State Highway Department and as a teacher's aide at Fleming County Schools but she enjoyed being a mother and housewife the most. Phyllis is survived by her son, D.W. (Annette) Brown; her grandson, Chase (Courtney) Brown; her two great granddaughters, Taylor Grace Brown and Harper Faith Brown; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her mother Ethel; her father Dimmitt; Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 plus years, Donald Wilson Brown, who passed in 2002; and her second husband, Douglas Thomas, who passed in 2017.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Ike France officiating.
Phyllis will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
