Phyllis R. Carpenter, 80, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, in West Chester, Ohio.

Born in Fleming County on July 14, 1943, her parents were the late Stanley Ramey and the late Vivian Ellison Ramey.

Phyllis was a retired teacher's aide with Flemingsburg Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Gerald F. Carpenter; her daughter, Leslie (her husband, Arlin) Kauffman; her son, Gerald Shay (his wife, Lauren Davis) Carpenter; and her granddaughter, Katelyn Anne Kauffman.  She is also survived by her sister, Loretta Jane Ramey; her brother, Tim (his wife, Sherri) Ramey; her three nieces, Jenna Fields, Hannah Ramey, and Holly Ramey; along with her extended family members and friends.

Services will be privately cared for by Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Phyllis will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
