Rodney Dale Prater, 62, of Wallingford, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his residence.

Born in Mason County on August 20, 1961, his father is Ernest Prater of Wallingford and his mother was the late Dorothy Lamar Prater.

Rodney was a hardworking man, willing to help his friends, family, and neighbors. He will be greatly missed.  He was the owner/operator of Prater Trucking.

In addition to his father Ernest, he is survived by his sister, Carolyn Prater Boling (Kenny) of Flemingsburg; his aunt, Sandy Prater Kimbler of Wallingford; his sister-in-law, Caren Prater of Flemingsburg; his niece, Shae Prater of Flemingsburg; and his two nephews, Dennis Conley (Brianna) of Maysville and Todd Conley of Goddard.  He is also survived by his two great nieces, Makayla Conley and Emma Conley; his great nephew, Camden Conley; and  two special cousins, Ronnie Lamar of Flemingsburg, and Tammy Prater Purdon (Marty) of Wallingford.

In addition to his mother Dorothy, Rodney was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell Prater and his nephews, Bradley Conley and C.C. Prater.

The funeral service will begin at 12 noon, Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Boling officiating.

Rodney will be laid to rest in Martin Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Lamar, Allen Patton, Doug Gallagher, Johnny Conn, Dennis Conley, and Mark Mineer.

Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the hour of service at 12 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041
