Roger Dale Spencer, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

Born in Lewisburg on August 31, 1948, he was a son of the late William Henry Spencer and the late Gracie Belle Logan Spencer.

Roger worked for Shannon & Hurd for 20 years and owned and operated his own bulldozing business.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diana Clark Spencer; five of his siblings; William Henry (Bonnie) Spencer Jr., Thomas Spencer, Billy Ray Spencer, Debbie Cooper, and Diane Evans; along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his mother Gracie and his father William; Roger was preceded in death by his son, Marky Dale Spencer; and two of his siblings, Ronnie Spencer and James Allen “Meathead” Spencer.

The funeral service will begin at 12 noon, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Hamm officiating.

Roger will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.

Pallbearers include Dennie Cooper, Chris Spencer, Justin Flack, Aaron Flack, Brian Spencer, and Larry Dale Spencer.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 12 noon, Friday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
