Ronald Everett Cooper, 81 of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, August 18th in the Hospice of Bluegrass Center at St. Joseph Hospital, surrounded by his children and other family members. He was born April 14, 1931 in Plummers Mill to the late John and Iva Newman Cooper. He married Jessie Dunaway Cooper on January 8, 1948. Mr. Cooper attended Unity Baptist Church. He worked and operated Cooper's Grocery in Tollesboro, worked at Frigidaire/Appliance division in Dayton, OH and worked at Kroger's in Dayton, OH. He was a well known Folk Artist for 20 years. Mr. Cooper was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a very loving husband and devoted his faith in Christ.

He is preceded in death by brothers, Clifford Cooper, George Cooper, and Calvin Cooper, and sisters, Effie Hurst, Emma Smith, Ruth Muse, Naomi Harris, Sylvia Tackett, and Jennie Butcher.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, August 23rd , 2012 at Flemingsburg Baptist Church with Bro. Clifford Muse, Adrian Swain, and Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Viewing will be after 10:00 AM at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow in Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Boone Nickell Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Adam Brown, Jonathon Saunders, Jordan Saunders, Jace McClain, Terry Brown, and Brian Hill.
