Ronald "Ron" Holbrook, 63, of Flemingsburg, formerly of Ashland, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Fleming County Hospital.

Mr. Holbrook was born October 6, 1951, in Ashland, KY, the son of the late Robert and Peggy Barber Holbrook.

Mr. Holbrook was retired after serving the Ashland community in many ways. Ron loved his family and music, he was a self-taught musician who loved to write music as well as play. Ron spent his life playing music and making friends. Ron was an honorary lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks where he had served as a Past State President and Past National Committee Member. Ron was a very active member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church, and a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Holbrook is survived by his wife, Donna McIntyre Holbrook; daughters, Amanda (Brian) Clark and Melissa (Robert Walters) Holbrook; stepsons, Daniel (Angie) Lowe, Duane (April) Lowe, and Brett Renfroe; grandchildren, Casey Clark, Drew Clark, Olivia Johnstone, Owen Lowe, and Mazie Renfroe; sister, Paula Caudill; brothers, Keith (Margie) Holbrook, Donald (Diann) Holbrook, and Jerry (Nita) Holbrook; and many friends

A celebration of life will be 1 PM Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Flemingsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Elkow officiating. Visitation will be 10 AM to 1 PM Saturday at the Flemingsburg Methodist Church. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11 AM at Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland, KY with Rev. Lynn Beach officiating. Memorial visitation to follow at the Elks Lodge of Ashland (900 Carter Ave Ashland, KY 41101) from 12 -2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Elks Foundation or the Flemingsburg United Methodist Church.
