Ronnie Lee Donahue, 77, of Maysville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025. He was the widower of Brenda Kaye Vice Donahue.
Born in Maysville, Kentucky on March 20, 1948, his father was the late Robert E. Donahue and his mother was the late Lula "Tootsie" Donaldson Donahue.
A Kentucky Colonel, Ronnie was retired from East Kentucky Power. He had proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Kim Donahue; his five grandchildren, Meghan Dwyer and husband Mark, Jacob Creecy (Ashton Desautel), Hannah Meade and husband Coty, Mallory Donahue, and Keaton Donahue; his five great grandchildren, Mara Dwyer, McCoy Dwyer, Eli Meade, Asher Creecy, and Lincoln Creecy. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Amy (Pat) Price; two of his siblings, Jean Dillon and Joan (David) Donovan; his two sisters-in-law, Patricia Donahue and Lisa Vice; and his brother-in-law, Bobby Joe (Peggy) Vice. In addition, Ronnie is survived by his girlfriend, Kate Cokonougher; and special friends, Paula Cokonougher, Stephanie Cokonougher, and Savannah Orahood.
In addition to Brenda, his wife of 46 years who passed in 2014 and his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Robert Donahue in 2006; his brother, Kenneth Donahue; his two half brothers and their wives, Harold (Betty) Rolph and Charles (Carol) Rolph; his two brothers-in-law, Jerry Dillon and Donald Vice; and his mother and father-in-law, Geneva and Charles Vice.
Service for Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Fr. Phil DeVous as celebrant.
Ronnie will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Pallbearers include Mark Dwyer, Coty Meade, Keaton Donahue, Pat Price, Chris Pfeffer, Troy Keith, and Jacob Creecy.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell Located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
