Rosa Lee Spurlock, 83, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital in Batavia, Ohio.

Born in Flemingsburg on July 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lee Gulley and the late Myrtle Carlston Gulley.

Rosa was a homemaker and an avid reader, especially of suspense and thrillers. She was a wonderful mom and mammaw.

She is survived by five of her children, Omer (Patty) Spurlock, Randy (Melissa) Spurlock, Mark Spurlock, Michael (Jo Ann) Cottey, and Jeremy (Becky) Yazell; her grandchildren, Kayla, Gina, and Hayley Cottey, Katelin, Marty, and Allison Yazell, Rosa Faith and Shane Spurlock; several great grandchildren her sister, Florence Witt; along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her mother Myrtle and her father Lee, Rosa was preceded in death by two of her children, Jim Spurlock and Rachel Spurlock; and her great grandchild, Spencer Stamper.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Rosa will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.

Pallbearers include her sons, Omer, Randy, Mark, Michael, and Jeremy; along with Marty Yazell. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Spurlock and James Yazell.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
