Obituary

Roscoe Nolan Miller, 91, of Mt. Carmel, passed away Friday March 27, 2014 at Fleming County Hospital.


Nolan was born June 13, 1922 in Fleming County to the late Roscoe and Phenia Doyle Miller.


Nolan was a lifelong farmer and conservationist. Nolan received a Purple Heart while serving in the US Army serving during WWII in the 117 Infantry Regiment 30th Division as an Anti-Tank Gun Crewman. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Foxport Baptist Church.


He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Miller, a son Curtis Nolan Miller, grandson Kevin Andrew Miller and siblings Judson Miller, Vernal Miller Julia Miller Polley and Ralph Miller.


Survivors include his niece Kathy (Jim) Inman, great nieces April (Billy) Doyle and Cherish (Shannon) Staggs; Cousins Darrell (Mary) Doyle and Darrell Wayne Doyle.


Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday March 31, 2014 at Foxport Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with full Military Honors performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Visitation will be 11 -1 PM Monday at the church
