Samuel Mack "Sam" Little, 79, of Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at his residence.
Born on Bald Point on Laurel in Lewis County on July 10, 1945, his father was the late James Little and his mother was the late Opal Jones Little Spence.
Sam was a contractor for the telephone company and a supervisor. He was a member of Ramey's Chapel and had proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Velma "Mae" Niece Little; his four children, Sammy McGraw, Theresa Church, Michael Brown, and Matthew Brown; his six grandchildren, Zachary, Kaylee, Audrey, Kaylee, Michael, and Sammy; his 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by five of his siblings, Robert "Buster" Little, Clyde Little, John (wife Brenda) Little, Bina Spencer, and Wilma (husband Rusty) Evans; 12 nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his mother Opal and his father James, Sam was preceded in death by three of his brothers, Ernie, Luther, and Paul Albert Little.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Hickerson officiating.
Sam will be laid to rest in Muses Mills Cemetery.
W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Pallbearers include Charles Gulley, Anthony Ball, Pat Royse, Charlie Henderson, Jesse Niece, and Zachary Brown. Honorary pallbearers include Sammy McGraw and Sammy McGraw, Jr.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, August 29, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
