Samuel Thomas "Sammy" Lambert, 84, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at his residence, with family by his side.
Born in Maysville on December 28, 1940, Sammy was the son of the late Ora Glenn Lambert and the late Alma Filson Lambert.
Sammy was a journeyman electrician of IBW Union 183 of Louisville local. He was a member of Willisburg Christian Church in Washington County. His best advice for life was, "Whatever you do, be the best one. Even if you're a ditch digger, be the best one. Be the best you can be." As well, his advice included, "Use your head for something other than a hat rack." This advice underlined his encouragement of education, going to college, and getting a degree. He was known as Rocketman, Junkman, Fisherman, Nut & Bolt Man. He loved the television show, Sanford and Son, and he was, "Filson and proud of it". Sammy actually found/located his sister when he was 80 years old. He loved going to Licking Valley Senior Citizen Center.
He is survived by six of his children, Thomas Glenn Lambert and wife Beth, David Joseph Lambert, Kimberly Ann Hamilton, Tommie Lynn Stone and husband Rick, Shelia Jane Logan, Sandra Dawn Ritchie and husband David; his daughter-in-law, Tonya Lambert; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother Alma; his father Ora; Sammy was preceded in death by his son, Brian Kenton Lambert; his sister, Karen Condron; his son-in-law, Everett Hamilton; the mother of his children, Anna Nell Lambert; and a special friend, Betty Pugh.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Bro. Harley Sexton officiating.
Sammy will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Hayden Logan, Wade Logan, Estill Hamilton, Hunter Smoot, Nathan Cooper, Cody Jolly, Carter Ritchie, and Kenton Jolly. Honorary pallbearers include Brandon Lambert, Wendell Alexander, Shawn Royse, Perry White, along with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
