Sergeant Major Willie R. Milton (Retired), 80, of Wallingford, KY, passed away Sunday August 31, 2014 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

Willie was born April 4, 1934 in Ft. Pierce, FL to the late Burt and Leatha Milton.

Willie was retired from the United States Marine as a Sergeant Major after 24 years of service to our country. Willie proudly served in the Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the Wallingford United Methodist Church, W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Survivors include his daughters Tina (Kevin) Turner and Kay Milton Cowan; grandchildren Gary (Brittany Jester) Adkins. David and Tiffany Cowan; great grandchildren Ryan & Aidyn; brother Kenny Milton and sister Kay Cosar

Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Edith Milton, daughter Leatha Milton, parents, siblings Carl, Dean and Doug Milton.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday September 4, 2014 at Muses Mills Christian Church with Bro Bob Ray officiating. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Burial will follow in Muses Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6- 8 PM at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home and 10 - 11 AM Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Hope or Wallingford United Methodist Church.
