Shirley Ann Flora, 77, of Ewing, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at her residence.

Born in Nicholas County on September 21, 1948, Shirley was the daughter of the late Marvin McCarty and the late Juanita Fryman McCarty.

Shirley worked at Jockey in Carlisle and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and being with her family, family which included New Life Church of Christ, where she attended.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eric Wayne Flora; two of her children, Marvin (Rita) Flora and Troy (Lisa) Flora; her daughter-in-law, Delta Flora; her eight grandchildren, Breanna Flora, Jesse (Elizabeth) Flora, Zachary Jarrells, Meranda (John) Merson, Tyler (Savannah) Frederick, Harrison Flora, Erica (Brandon) Erkenbrecher, and Kayla Sowers; and  her 16 great grandchildren, Gideon, Colton, Ember, Annaleah, Ty, Logan, Owen, Emma, Sadie, Mya, Ian, Jaxon, Landon, Meredith, Charlie, and Beckam. She is also survived by special family friends, Chris Mitchell, Becky Cannon, and Vicki Murray; along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her mother Juanita and her father Marvin, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Duane Flora; and her granddaughter, Amber McCoy.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at New Life Church of Christ with Clay Cannon officiating.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Sunnyside Cemetery (Mount Tabor).

Pallbearers include J. W. Neal, Mike Fryman, Greg Faris, Mark Fryman, Chris Mitchell, and Jerry Wayne Kissick.  Honorary pallbearers include Donnie Christman, Clell Vice, Randy Fryman, Danny Moran, Jerry Neal, Chase Taylor, and Kelly Vice.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at New Life Church located at 374 Helena Road, Flemingsburg KY 41041.
