Stella Mae Gardner Sapp, 97, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital. She was the widow of Everett E. Sapp.
Born in Goddard on July 26, 1926, her father was the late James Gardner and her mother was the late Rose Gulley Gardner.
Stella was a homemaker and a farmer. Known as a good and faithful Christian woman, she enjoyed working on the farm beside her husband. She was member of the Battle Run Christian Church.
She is survived by her five children, Janice (Charlie) Crump, Billy (Mona) Sapp, Judy (David) Wright, Michael Sapp, and Nancy (David) Doyle; her seven grandchildren, Mark Ramey, Denise Collinsworth, Candace Conn, Heather Plummer, Isaac Sapp, Tyler Doyle, and Crystal Kennon; her eight great grandchildren, Carson Collinsworth, Parker Collinsworth, Seth Ramey, Hailey Conn, Henley Plummer, Jacob Doyle, Adley Sapp, and Lawson Sapp; her brother, Ervin Gardner; her daughter-in-law, Judy Sapp; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Everett, her husband of 63 years who passed in 2009; her mother Rose; her father James, Stella was preceded in death her daughter, Mary Belle Sapp; her son, Ricky Wayne Sapp; her grandchild, Brad Kennon; seven of her siblings, Beulah Turner, Huff Gardner, Steve Gardner, Omar Chester Gardner, Ova Gardner, Mabel Hamilton, and Estill Gardner; and her daughter-in-law, Charlotte Sapp.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
Stella will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Mark Ramey, Isaac Sapp, Tyler Doyle, Carson Collinsworth, Parker Collinsworth, and Seth Ramey. Honorary pallbearers include Mike High, Johnny Ruark, Dickie Flora, and Ollie Ray Flora.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
