IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve
Mckee
January 6, 1958 – April 1, 2017
Steve McKee, 59, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe after a brief illness.
Steve was born January 6, 1958, in Fleming County, the son of the late Elwood and Ruby Ishmael McKee. Steve was a devoted family man.
His greatest loves were his grandchildren, whether it was teaching them the family business, racing cars or playing hide and seek, they were never far from his mind. Steve was owner and operator of Steve's Welding and Towing for many years and had previously run Steve's Lakewood Service Station. Steve had been a bus driver for 28 years, driving bus #3 in the Fox Valley area. He was stern with his students, but cared for each one. He enjoyed going to craft fairs where he would sell his signs and metal work. He also enjoyed going to flea markets, being outdoors, and taking care of all of his animals. Steve was a member of the Wallingford United Methodist Church.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Paul Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Debbie Mitchell McKee; two children, Matthew (Heather) Story and Shawna (Joe) Gibson; sister, Donna (Jimmy) Hitch; eight grandchildren, Carter Story, Chloe White, Kohl, Kamden and Kyleigh Lippert, Aubrey, Preston and Mahalia Violet Gibson; nephew, Brian (Vinessa) Hitch; great nephew, Xachary Hitch; and great niece, Isabela Hitch. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Violet Mitchell.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside (Mount Tabor) Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Hope, (909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville KY 41056).
