Terry A. Manning, 67, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the University Of Kentucky Hospital.
Terry was born in Maysville, on September 2, 1949 to the late Frazee and Betty Jean Davis Manning.
Terry was retired from DP&L J.M. Stuart Generating Station after 34 ½ years of service where he worked as a controls mechanic supervisor. He was a member of the Elizaville Christian Church where he served as an elder. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam era stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his discharge from the Air Force he was in the US Army Reserves for several years. He served on the advisory council for the extension office and was a major supporter of the local backpack program. Terry was a member of the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 and the Funeral Honor Guard. He drove a Licking Valley transport van as a volunteer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia Flaugher Manning; sons, Tim (Alison) Manning and Todd (Sara) Manning; grandchildren, Owen, Daniel and Katy; brothers, Scott (Linda) Manning and Barry Manning. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Anna Lee Doyle, Garr Manning and Caty Saunders; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, February, 11, 2017, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor James Watkins and Bro. George Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
Pallbearers include Bryan Manning, Blake Manning, Brooks Manning, Christi Manning Kesterson, Larry Dearing and Terry McKee.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fleming County Cooperative Extension Backpack Program, P.O. Box 192, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041.
