Thelma Jewell Marshall, 87, of Flemingsburg, KY went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2011 at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY

Thelma was a childcare provider of 287 children who referred to her lovingly as "Aunt Jew", a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a faithful Christian of 76 years and attended Wallingford Christian Holiness Church.

She was born in Fleming County on March 29, 1924 to the late Gobel and Ola James. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Janie Roark of Wallingford, a grandson, Nicky Dean (Tracie) Roark Jr. of Maysville, a granddaughter, Brittany Denise Roark of Wallingford; and great grandchildren Chase Stafford, Payton Roark, and Carter Roark. She is also survived by a sister, Mabel Johnson of Ashland and brother Ersil James of Laphrop, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband Estill Marshall, one child Franklin Dale Marshall, a son-in-law, Nicky Dean Roark Sr., a granddaughter Deana Nicole Roark, Also preceded in death by her brother, Paul James, and her sister Edna James Lee.

She was a testimony and witness to countless people of her Christian Faith. She touched numerous lives and provided spiritual guidance to many. Thelma had countless family and friends that were very special in her life that she loved and cherished dearly. Thelma was always there to lend a hand to someone in need and her home was always open.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday May 14, 2011 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Redmon, Bro Charlie Hamm, and Bro Scott Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
