Thomas "Tommy" LaMar, 80, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday January 30, 2013 at Fleming County Hospital. He was born September 2, 1932 in Fleming County to the late Omar & Josephine LaMar.
Tommy was retired from Kentucky State Highway as a shop foreman with 25 years of service. He was a member of New Life Church of Christ, and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Tommy was a great, hardworking man that was loved by many people and will be greatly missed by all.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years Martha Skaggs LaMar.
Children: Eddie LaMar of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Debbie Ramey of Flemingsburg, KY, and Cindy (Tony) Armstrong of Flemingsburg.
His grandsons who where the light of his life, Alex Armstrong and Seth Ramey
Sisters: Grace Finch and Olive Tumlin
Several Nieces and Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dudley Doyle and Lloyd LaMar, sisters Mary Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Dorothy Prater
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday Febuary 2, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Minister Darren Fizer officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
