Verena S West, 83 of Flemingsburg passed away Sunday, October 23 at the Fleming County Hospital. She was born in Wallingford, Kentucky on May 8, 1928 to the late Tivis & Eda Richie Rucker. Verena was a very devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother. She was a Homemaker and was previously employed in the Food Services Department at the Fleming County High School. She attended Wallingford United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Wallingford United Women's Circle.

She is survived by 3 Sons; James (Donna) Hitch, Raymond (Lucille) Hitch & Joseph Hardymon all of Fleming County. 5 Grandsons; Jared Hitch, Flemingsburg, Damon (Heather) Hitch of Ft. Lee, Virginia, Brian (Vinessa) Hitch, Flemingsburg, Joe Kelly & Billy Ray Hickerson, Missouri. Great Grandchildren; Joshua Hitch, Jacob Hitch, Ava Grace Hitch, Emily Faith Hitch, Xachary Todd Hitch, Brittany Lynn Hickerson, Tyler Hickerson, and many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands; Russel Hitch, Elwood Hardymon & Merrill West, 2 sons; J.D. Hitch & Robert Elwood "Bobby" Hardymon, 3 brothers; Tivis Rucker, Kenneth Rucker & Kelly Rucker, and 2 sisters; Gertrude Marshall & Lela Bramel.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 PM on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Ray officiating.
