Virgil L. Owen, 73, of Wallingford passed away Saturday morning December 3, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital. He was born April 15, 1938 in Kansas, Alabama to the late Benjamin & Eva Owen. Mr. Owen had been a quality control manager at Fleming Homes for 16 years before his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis Stamm Owen

Children: Mike Stamm of Mason County, and Michelle Beckham of Mt. Sterling

Brother: Bobby Owen of Brooksville, OH

Grandchildren: Brayden, Anthony, Kyle, and Kaleah

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Tuesday December 6, 2011 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro Layne Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery with military rites preformed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Visitation will be 11 - 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Marty, Billy, and Mark Wallingford, Adnan Hussein, Raymond Fearin, and Mike Stamm.
