Wayne Allen Carpenter, 71, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home with family by his side.

Born in Fleming County on August 22, 1945, he was the son of the late John Hart Carpenter and Sadie Thomas Florence Carpenter.

Wayne was a farmer who loved hunting, fishing and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Helen Bailey Carpenter; his son, Tony Carpenter; his grandchildren, Sierra Carpenter and Tyler Carpenter and his sister, Linda Flora; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Carpenter; his sisters, Imogene Ball and Ethelene Story.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Danny Bradley, Charles Whisman, Donnie Ishmael, Jarrod Monroe, Sam Miller and David Gulley. Honorary pallbearers include David Bailey, Bill LeForgee, Greg Flora, Billy Reeder, Paul Planck, Jim Bradley and Gary Hawk.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
