Wilburn Ray "Wook" Beckett, 76, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday morning May 27, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH.
He was born July 6, 1936 in Fleming County to the late Charles Ralph & Lydia Beckett.
Wilburn was a auto body mechanic for 40 years at Doyle's Auto Sales and Jerry's Gems. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Willis A Lee. He was a proud member of the Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 and the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5.
Survivors include his children Regena Crawford, Shelia Lee, Cindy Bustos, Angie Beckett all of Flemingsburg, Pam King of Mt. Olivet & Tim Beckett of Lewisburg, KY; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Annie Rice of Beechburg and Jenny Hickerson of Flemingsburg.
Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents, wife Naomi Gulley Beckett, son David Beckett, brother Buddy Bigelow and 2 grandchildren Shaun Crawford and Destiny Beckett.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday May 31, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
