William "Bill" Irvin Marshall, 88 of Flemingsburg passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at Fleming County Hospital. He was born November 13, 1924 in Fleming County son of the late Arthur T. & Maggie Caudill Marshall.
Mr. Marshall worked for the University of Kentucky Agriculture as an extension agent for 20 some years. He was a member of the Soil Conservation Board, Kentucky Poultry Association, and a member of the Elizaville Christian Church for many years.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was ranked as Staff Sergeant in World War II.
Mr. Marshall loved to spend time with his family and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by Three Brothers: Ernie, Johnnie & Raymond Marshall and Three Sisters: Josie and Gladys Marshall and Rita Shumate.
He is survived by his loving wife Marian Runyon Marshall, Four Sons; William David Marshall, L. Thomas Marshall, Dr. Mitchell I. Marshall, and Dr. Kenneth Edwin Marshall, One Daughter; Ruth Ann Marshall Fielding, One sister; Sada Ravenscraft Mineer, Nine Grandchildren; Ryker Miller, Regan Kinney, Danielle Dalton, Whitney Fish, David Marshall, Clay Marshall, Audrey Marshall, Cole Marshall, and Kennedy Marshall, and 10 Great Grandchildren; Brady Marshall, Cade Marshall, Micah Dalton, Kendall Kinney, Wyatt Kinney, Sydney Kinney, William Asher Miller, Avery Miller, Lindsey Marshall and Lane Thomas Fish.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM, on Thursday July 18, 2013 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Burrnett and Bro. Herbie Stallard officiating, Interment will follow in the Flemingsburg Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be David Marshall, Clay Marshall, Ryker Miller, Dallas Dalton, Cowan Kinney, and Joshua Fish. Visitation will be from 5- 9 PM on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.Boone-Nickell Funeral Home is caring for all arrangements. Online condolences may be given at www.boonenickellfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elizaville Christian Church.
