William Clark "Billy C." Thomas, 78, of Poplar Grove, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe after a brief illness.

Billy was born on December 18, 1937, in Orangeburg, the son of the late William Edman and Oleta Craycraft Thomas.

Billy was one of the most outgoing, friendliest guys in the world he never met a stranger. He was a retired construction foreman having worked many years for Shannon & Hurd Construction and Judy Construction. When he finally decided to retire he built himself and Red a beautiful lake behind their home that they enjoyed so much. He was a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Gloria "Red" Thomas; children, Debbie White and husband, Sam, Cathy Adams and husband, Stevie and Bill & Macie Thomas; his very special grandchildren Hallie Adams, Case Adams and Kyle White.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Winnie Bigelow and Shelby Wallingford.

Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with Jeff Martin, David Arrasmith, Mark Henderson, Kelly Wallingford, Scotty Wallingford, Tommy Bigelow, as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Scaggs, Larry Scaggs, Eldon Ginn, Bobby Applegate and all the men at the liars table.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
