Woodie Allen Johnson, 80, of Ewing, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Woodie was born in Fleming County on January 25, 1937, the son of the late Henry S. and Catherine Berry Johnson.

He worked for the State Highway Department Road crew for 15 years. Prior to the State Highway Department, Woodie was in route sales for many years.

Survivors include his sons, Doug and wife Debbie Johnson, and Kenny Johnson of Fleming County; a grandson, Nathan Johnson of Flemingsburg; a step-grandson, David (Kelly) Bailey of Winchester; great grandchildren, Evan Johnson, Coleman and Warren Bailey; and a sister, Anna Ruth McClain of Aberdeen, OH. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Colleen Johnson; his neices, Debbie (Van) Alexander and Tamara Belcher; his nephews, Mike (Renita) Johnson and Stephen McRoberts; his great niece, Wendy(Drew) Fryman; and great nephew, Kenneth Johnson.

Woodie was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Mason Johnson; his brothers, Henry "Jay" Johnson Jr. and Wendell Lee Johnson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, May 22, 2017, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Billy Glen Cowan and Wally Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
