Yvonne Gulley, 87, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 17, 2025. She was the widow of Lester "Buck" Gulley.
Born in Fleming County on December 24, 1937, her father was the late Howard Cooper and her mother was the late Dora Gardner Cooper.
Yvonne worked many years at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home and was a co-owner of the Kettletop until she retired.
She was a member of the Muses Mills Fire Department where she was president of the board of directors for many years. She also served on the board for her church, Ramey's Chapel, where she was a member.
Yvonne is survived by her three children, Mark (Tammy) Gulley of Sharkey, Pam (Chris) Compton of Wallingford, and Susie Smalley (Phillip Bussell) of Wallingford; her three grandchildren, Tonja (Phillip) Faris, Coty Gulley, and Ashley Smalley; her two great grandchildren, Halee and Abby Becraft; her two step great grandchildren, Caleb and Landen Faris; and her great, great grandchild, Kaden. She is also survived by her four brothers, Bill Cooper, Jim (Mary Jane) Cooper, Bobbie (Debbie) Cooper, and Mike (Connie) Cooper; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband Buck who passed in 2003, her mother Dora, and her father Howard, Yvonne was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rachel Renee; her sister-in-law, Shirley Cooper; and several of her best friends.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Rev. Jesse Hickerson and Bro. Doug Reeves officiating.
Yvonne will be laid to rest in rest in Wallingford Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Phillip Bussell, Phillip Faris, Kenneth Gulley, Mickey Cooper, Barry Hamm, Jeff Hamm, Timmy Gulley, and Tony Kazee. Honorary pallbearers include Chris Compton, Glen Arnold, Jason Watson, Kermit Gulley, Steve Fearin, Don Latham, Donnie Story, Pat Story, and Randy Fraley – The Kettletop Gang.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
