Barry Arrasmith Obituary

Barry Dean Arrasmith, 62, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2020, at UK Medical Center.

Born in Maysville, KY on November 12, 1957, he was the son of Fannie Nash Arrasmith and the late Osbourne E. Arrasmith.

Barry worked for Wald’s for 18 years and for Toyo Seat for 18 years.  He was a lifelong member of the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, a church he truly loved.  He enjoyed gardening and canning.  He loved his family and doing things with his grandkids.  In his death he gave life to others through organ donation.

Barry is survived by his wife, Anita Youngman Arrasmith; his children, Randy Arrasmith and Christina (Mark) Hampton; his stepchildren, Adriana Highfield and Jeremy (Penny) Highfield; his grandchildren, Danielle, Joshua, Courtney, Darren, Kane, Preston, Matthew, Ashley, Blake, Branson, and Bryson.  In addition to his mother Fannie, he is also survived by his siblings, David (Brenda) Arrasmith, Steve Arrasmith, and Greg (Teresa) Arrasmith; special nieces, Kayla Brown, Kira Brown, and Keely (Bo) Crawford; as well as a host of friends and extended family members.

In addition to his father Osbourne, Barry was preceded in death by his first wife, Theresa Arrasmith; his grandchildren, Asher Arrasmith and Tyler Grannis; and his brother, Jimmy Arrasmith.

Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Mt. Carmel UMC with Pastor Tim Ray and Rev. Mike Ishmael officiating.

Barry will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Roger Hedger, David Arrasmith, Greg Arrasmith, Randy Arrasmith, Darren Arrasmith, Kane Arrasmith, and Joshua Hamm.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., on Saturday, until the hour of service at the church.               

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel UMC (C/O Fay Cropper, 1749 Burtonville Road, Tollesboro, KY 41189).
