Bettye Taylor Nichols

Our Heavenly father has taken Bettye Taylor Nichols, her wings into eternity, on Wed, May 9, 2012 at St Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, IN. Bettye was born to Lake Jr. and Mary Z. Rice Taylor on Sep 20, 1930 in Flemingsburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents. Bettyle is survived by her husband of 49 years, Pete Nichols of Indianapolis, IN, daughter Delilah Taylor (Paul) of Cincinnati, OH; uncles Wilber Rice, abd Calbert Taylor of Flemingsburg, KY; aunts, Bessie Warner of Washington, KY, and Margaret Gibbs of Columbus, OH; brother-in-lawm J.C. Nichols (Eula) of Madisonville, KY; sister-in-law, Revella Nichols of Providence, KY; loving friends, Agenes R Shelton, Rita Henderson, Kandy Dudley, Juanita Easley, and Bernard and Allison Kimball, in addition to many godchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pete and Bettye were married on Sep 21, 1962 in Clarksville , TN. In 1965, Bettye became a beautician after graduating from Madame C. J. Walker's Beauty School in Indianapolis , IN. She had a successful beautician business continuing to work with clients in Indianapolis and Flemingsburg for over 40 years, until she became ill in Aug, 2011. Bettye will always be remembered by her beautiful smile, joyous laughter and her homemade pudding. She was loved immensely by her family and friends and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. Many memories will be cherished for a lifetime by all who knew Bettye.

Visitation will be Friday, May 17 from 4-8PM at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be in the Strawberry Methodist Church , Flemingsburg , KY on Sat, May 19 at 1:00 PM with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
