Wilma “Billie” Jean Horton Jones, 91, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Robertson County Health Care Facility. She was the widow of Robert Mason “Bob” Jones.
Born in Poplar Plains on December 15, 1931, her father was the late Walter Horton and her mother the late Beulah Maggard Horton.
Billie worked as a florist and as an insurance agent. She was a volunteer with Champions Against Drugs, honored in 1998 as the Regional Volunteer of the Year. She had been a member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church since 1961.
She is survived by two of her children, Apryl Jones Polster and Hope Jones; her seven grandchildren, Courtney Parker, Michaela Polster Crum, Aura Polster, Isaac Polster, Katie Emmons, Connor Jones, and Carrie Jones Coffee; her brother, Julian Horton; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Bob, her husband of 64 years who passed in 2019, and her parents, Billie was preceded in death by two of her children, Benny Jones and Gary Jones; and five of her siblings, Deloris Horton Wallace, Dorothy Horton Dalton, David Horton, Barbara Horton Moren, and George Horton.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church with Pastor Robbie Shrout officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
