Robert Banks “Bobby” Vice, 82, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his residence. He was the widower of Doris Ann Lykins Vice.
Born in Nicholas County on August 22, 1940, his parents were the late Lincoln Ford Vice and the late Nannie Kay Buzzard Vice.
Bobby was a farmer who spent 34 years as a school bus driver and 25 years as a dispatcher for R.E.C.C. He enjoyed trading knives and guns and loved riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Sherburne Christian Church. He and Doris opened up their family to include raising his nephews, Frank and Jeff Vice.
Bobby is survived by his son, Robert L. “Robbie” Vice and wife Bobbie Jo; his two grandchildren, Brandi Rae Vice and Jessie Braden Vice; and his great grandchild, Zoey Vice. He is also survived by four of his nephews, Jimmy Vice, Doug Vice, Jeff Vice, and Brad Vice; and his niece, Lisa Roberson; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Doris, his wife of almost 50 years who passed in 2010, and his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his four siblings, Reynolds Vice, Menaldo Vice, Hazel Blackstock, and an infant sister; his three nephews, Frank Vice, Dennis Vice and John Vice; and his niece, Jenny Katherine Shaw.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Ray Hickerson officiating.
Bobby will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Brad Vice, Joe Lengacher, Jake Lengacher, Josh Bryant, Eric Hampton, Ricky Crump, and Wes Hilterbrand.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell.
