James Calvin Robinson, 70, of Mount Carmel, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Fleming County on October 11, 1952, he was the son of the late James “Tyle” Robinson and the late Stella Francis Penrod Robinson.
Calvin was a farmer and truck driver who had worked for Jockey and Techno Trim. He was a member of the East Fork Christian Church. He was always working and loved riding horses.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Michelle Ferguson Robinson; his three children, Angela Robinson, Matt (Kari) Robinson, and Shayla (Taylor) Hesler; his five grandchildren, Aley Wilson, Tori Robinson, Ty Robinson, Ashton Hesler, and Stella Hesler; and one great grandchild, Will Esham. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Allen; his sister-in-law, Vivian Robinson; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his mom and dad, he was preceded in death by his brother, Delephin Robinson; and his brother-in-law, Ivan Allen.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Tollesboro Christian Church with Bro. Charles Hampton and Bro. Joe Hampton officiating.
Calvin will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Matt Robinson, Ty Robinson, Taylor Hesler, Ron Gallagher, John Edmond, Stacey Vice, Jimmy Arthur, and Don Young. Honorary pallbearers include Aley Wilson, Tori Robinson, Ashton Hesler, Stella Mae Hesler, Will Esham, and Kimber Ferguson.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the church located at 3684 W KY 10, Tollesboro, Ky. 41189.
