Carolyn Virginia Pollitt, 78, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Fleming County Hospital.
Born in Fleming County on July 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Avery Fleming Hunt and the late Elizabeth Blanche Earlywine Hunt.
Carolyn was an in-home caregiver and a member of the New Life Church of Christ. Family was everything to her. She was known to her family and friends as the “Yard Sale Queen”.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leo E. Pollitt; four of her children, Leo Estill (Claudia) Pollitt, Jackie Fleming (Nina) Pollitt, Penny (James) Richmond, Ricky (DeAnna) Pollitt; her 12 grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sibling, Rocky (Teresa) Hunt; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Lee Pollitt; eight of her siblings, Avery Estill Hunt, Steve Delewis Hunt, David Lee Hunt, Anna Louise Gray, Emma Garr Gray, Jeanette Carpenter, Joy Marie Mitchell, and Hazel Kerns.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Hickerson officiating.
Carolyn will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Rocky Hunt, Ricky Pollitt, Estill Pollitt, Jackie Pollitt, Justin Elliott, and Ricky Stetson Pollitt. Honorary pallbearers include Jerry Neal, Raymond Pollitt, James Richmond, and Waylon Wrangler Pollitt.
Visitation will be from noon, until the hour of service at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Boone-Nickell.
