Charles Homer “Buddy” McIntyre, 87, of Helena, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.
Born in Ohio on October 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Homer and Mary Parker McIntyre.
Buddy began a long life of farming at the early age of 12. His entire life was dedicated to his crops and dairy cattle, which is why he was lovingly called "Papaw Moo-Moo" by his grandchildren from the time they could each talk. If he wasn't working on the farm, or spending time with his family that he adored, you could often find him at BP catching up on all of the local news.
Although he made it his job to worry about everyone he loved, he loved life and would never forget the details of humorous stories and retell them at every opportunity he was given. His infectious laugh would be present each and every time he would retell it, as if it had just happened. To those that knew him, his smile would light up a room.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Darlene Hickerson McIntyre; his two daughters, Angie Lee and Sherry Mitchell both of Flemingsburg; his four grandchildren, Melissa (Joey) Greenwell, Amber (Rob) Corns, Charles (Sara) Mitchell, Heather Mitchell; his five great-grandchildren, Caleb Corns, Emily Greenwell, Connor Corns, Samantha Mitchell, and Everly Mitchell; and a special furry companion, Rusty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three siblings, Billy McIntyre, Eugene McIntyre, and Peggy Vice; and his son-in-law, Eddie Lee.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Robbie Corns and Mike Walton officiating.
Buddy will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Mike Walton, Charles “CW” Mitchell, Caleb Corns, Connor Corns, Wayne Reeves, Robbie Corns, Gary Hickerson, and Keith Reeder. Honorary pallbearers include Joey Greenwell, Emily Greenwell, Obert Vice, Steve Hickerson, and Travis Skaggs.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Boone-Nickell.
