Charles Joseph “Shack” Litzler, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home.
Born in Covington, Ky. on October 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Charles Litzler, Sr. and the late Bertha Sipple-Litzler-Gulley-Hester.
“Shack” worked at Browning Manufacturing for 38 years as a welder. He also farmed and was forever working on vehicles. For years he was an avid sportsman, loving to fish and to hunt. During his later years he enjoyed car shows, swap meets, and taking his grandchildren with him.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Judy Logan Litzler; his three children, Kevin Litzler, Tracey (Dustin) Hawkins, and Travis (Dana) Litzler all of Flemingsburg. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Joe McCord, Brook (Lucas) Arrasmith, Shelby (Tanner Billings) Litzler, Creighton Litzler, Sadie Litzler, Tritt Litzler, Cash Litzler; his one great-grandson, Clayson Billings; his brother, Dewey (Elsie) Gulley; along with many extended family members.
In addition to his father and mother, Charles was preceded in death by his two step-dads who raised him, Cecil Gulley and Bob Hester, whom he considered to be one of his greatest friends.
The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home Bro. Jesse Hickerson officiating.
Charles will be laid to rest in Muses Mills Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Joe McCord, Creighton Litzler, Dustin Hawkins, Pat Story, Darrell Logan, and Lucas Arrasmith. Honorary pallbearers include Willard Logan and Donnie Logan.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m., until the hour of service at 12 p.m., Saturday, at Boone-Nickell.
