Denny Ray “Hillfly” Vice, 69, of the Tilton community in Fleming County, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
Born in Fleming County on August 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Clyde Vice and the late Ruby Lee Harmon Vice.
Denny enjoyed wood working and gardening. He was a lifelong farmer. He worked for Moore and James for 10 years as a fuel truck driver.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Roberta Evonne Dailey Vice; his siblings, Everett Thomas “Tommy” Vice and wife Janice, Frances Louise Dailey, Daisy Lee Stanfield, and Aleta Smith. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ruth Vice and Eda Faye Vice.
In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Burton Vice and Jerome Douglas Vice; his nephew, Reynolds Dailey, Jr.; his great niece, Alisha Stanfield; and his brothers-in-law, Marvin Stanfield, Ronnie Dailey, and John A. Smith.
Funeral will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 4, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Hickerson and Sister Gail Skaggs officiating.
Denny will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
Pallbearers include William Hendrix, Levi Shetler, Bill Ramey, Talon Moran, Johnny James, and Eli Shetler. Honorary pallbearers include Matt Vice, Ricky Dailey, Kyler Smith, Colton Ramey, Jeff Dailey, Robbie Dailey, Chris Stanfield, and Kent Stanfield.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday night, at the funeral home.
