Elmer Foxworthy, 81, of Mount Carmel, Ky., passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his residence. He was the widower of Carol Boyd Foxworthy who passed away on June 4, 2019.
Born in Mount Carmel on June 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Douglas Foxworthy and the late Ruth Muse Foxworthy.
Elmer was a lifelong farmer. He served on the Fleming Mason Energy Board of Directors from 1975 until 2015. He was a member of the Mount Carmel Christian Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Workman (husband David) of Louisville, Ky., Dana Cochran (husband Phillip) of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his five grandchildren, Austin Workman, Ryan Workman, Brianna (Hunter) Burden, Ethan Cochran, Elliott Cochran; his great-grandchild, Easton Burden. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny and Kathy Carpenter, and Butch Anderson; along with his nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
In addition to his wife Carol and his parents Douglas and Ruth, he was preceded in death by his five siblings, Wilma, Boyd, Mason, Mae-re, and Nelsie.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Johnson with The Solomon Foundation officiating.
Elmer will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Austin Workman, Ryan Workman, Ethan Cochran, Elliott Cochran, Hunter Burden, and John Kilgore. Honorary pallbearer will include Randy Morgan.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 2 p.m., Saturday, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
