Ernest Clayton “Ernie” Walters, 81, of Flemingsburg, passed away early Tuesday, May 18, 2021, in Sharpsburg.
Born in Hope, Kentucky on September 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Osa Walters and the late Bonnie Kimberlin Walters.
Ernie was a retired welder, having worked on such projects as the Apollo rockets and later moving on to nuclear pumps. He was a member of the Elks Lodge Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his son, Vincent Walters of Flemingsburg; his seven grandchildren; his five great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Connie Boggess; and his siblings, Marilyn Glowsky of FL, Euralee Pickens of IA, and Donald Walters of Camargo, KY.
In addition to his parents Osa and Bonnie he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn Walters; and his wife, Francis Ann Walters (who passed away on March 29, 2007).
Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2021, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Perry officiating.
Ernie will be laid to rest in Fortune Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
