Hazel L. Doyle, 85, of Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Fleming County Hospital. She was the widow of James Dudley Doyle.
Born in Elliott County on December 5, 1937, her parents were the late George Martin Skaggs and the late Cynthia Ball Skaggs.
Hazel was a homemaker and farmer. She was a founding member and dedicated member of the New Life Church of Christ.
She is survived by her four children, James Douglas Doyle of Wallingford, Jeanette C. Doyle of Wallingford, Dennis M. Doyle of Marianna, Fla., and Dianna (Rod) Gardner of Beechburg; her six grandchildren, Christina (Eric Earls) Doyle, Jeremy (Emily) Doyle, Candace Nicole (Billy) Fry, Shannon (Derik) Reese, Shelby (Kayla) Hall III, and Chris Gardner; her 10 great grandchildren, Caleb Heater, Jeremy D. Doyle II, Brylee Gardner, Denali Doyle, Hailey Hall, Hunter Hall, Harper Hall, Hayden Hall, Raegan Reese, and Owen Reese. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Lamar; a host of nephews and nieces that she loved dearly; her church family; many extended family members; and friends who were considered family to her.
In addition to her husband Dudley and her parents George and Cynthia, Hazel was preceded in death by her brother, George M. Skaggs, Jr. and her sister, Mattie L. Skaggs Lancaster.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the New Life Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Bentley and Bro. Darren Fizer officiating.
Hazel will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jeremy Doyle, Billy Fry, Christopher Gardner, Shelby Hall III, Everett Lee Hamilton, Caleb Heater, and Jeremy Doyle II. Honorary Pallbearers include Christina Doyle, Nicole Fry, and Shannon Reese.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., at the church located at 374 Helena Road, Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
