Ida Mae Ruggles, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.
Born in Rowan County on February 8, 1946, her parents were the late Johnny D. Ruggles and the late Rose Ross Ruggles.
Ida Mae worked for the Candy Kitchen in Maysville. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview.
She is survived by two of her sisters, Florence (Steve) Hickerson and Linda (Larry) Herrington; her nephew, Jonathan (Kelly) Herrington; her niece, Rose Ann (Randall) Deaton; her four great nephews, Lincoln, Silas, and Wallace Herrington and Bryan Ballard; her three great nieces, Krystina and Kayla Ballard and Nevaeh Deaton; two great, great nephews; one great, great niece; and a special cousin, Mary Ann Hopper.
In addition to her parents, Ida Mae was preceded in death by her brother, Frankie Ruggles; her sisters, Ethel Ann Ruggles, Pauline Willis, Wilma Ruggles, Mary Emmons, Betty Davis; and her special niece, Alicia Herrington.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Wiley officiating.
Ida Mae will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the hour of service at 12 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell.
