James Dudley “Jim” Maddox, 69, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Bluegrass Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born in Maysville on February 27, 1953, he was the son of Evelyn Lytle Shannon and the late Barbour Russell “Bob” Maddox.
Jim worked in construction and heavy equipment for Shannon and Hurd Construction. He was a Fleming County Chapter member of the Kentucky Motorcycle Association (KMA) and the Kentucky Bikers Association (KBA).
He is survived by his daughter, Alishia (husband Matthew) Rankin; his three grandchildren, Taylor Corbin, Whitney Sweet, and Ben Sweet; and his canine companion, Harley. In addition to his mother Evelyn, he is survived by his two sisters, Debbie Shrout and Mickey (husband Rick) Hickle; his stepmother, Caroline Faris Maddox; his step-brother, Gary (wife Kim) Shannon; the mother of his daughter, Delilah Jeanine Maddox; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his father Bob, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Carol Maddox; his stepfather, J. B. Shannon, and his two stepbrothers, Rocky Faris and Bobby Faris.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Eubanks officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Chris Bradford, Trent Pollitt, Brian Wallingford, Matt Rankin, Adam Gardner, and Gary Shannon. Honorary Pallbearers include Ben Sweet, Eddie Gardner, and Jimmy Bradley.
Visitation will be noon until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell.
