Jane Williams Obituary

Jane Perkins Williams, 96, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022, at her home.  She was the widow of G.H. “Scuttle” Williams.    

Born in Fleming County on November 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late John R. Perkins and the late Ada Lee Emmons Perkins.     

Jane graduated from the Mamie McCann Business School. She worked for the Flemingsburg Lumber Company while Scuttle was serving in WWII. She also worked years later for Campbell Home Furnishings as the secretary for parts and service and for The Community Trust Bank as a courier. Jane was proud to be known as an official Kentucky Colonel.  She was a long-standing member of the Ewing Baptist Church.

She is survived by four of her children, Connie (Larry) Vice, Patti Hall (Steve Donovan), Gregg Williams (Maggie Smith), Barb Wilson; her nine grandchildren, Robin Campbell (Robert “Beanie” Cummings), Jeff (Kim) Vice, Rob Allen Campbell, Todd (Jennie) Vice, Elliott Williams, Luke Williams, Alex Wilson, Hannah Wilson, and Chris Wolfe; her two great-grandchildren, Sawyer Vice and Hannah Vice; her brother, Jack (Mary) Perkins;  her brother-in-law, Ray Kreider; along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her husband Scuttle, Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathie Ann Campbell; her sons-in-law, Johnny Hall, Randy Wilson, and Robbie Campbell; and six of her siblings, Rob Perkins, Tommy Perkins, Mary Louise Perkins, Amanda Rigdon Yazell, Margaret Ann Edmond, and Joyce Kreider.

The family sincerely thanks her personal caregivers for the loving and wonderful care they provided and also to the Bluegrass Care Navigators for their support and care.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Ewing Baptist Church.

Jane will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at the church located at 1676 Ewing Road, Ewing, Ky. 41039.
