Kenneth C. “Kenny” Mers, 76, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
Born in Bourbon County on March 15, 1947, his father was the late Malcolm Mers and his mother was the late Lovelace Hill Mers.
Kenny was a retired lineman with Fleming Mason Energy after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ. He took great pride in his lawn and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancie “Hope” Martin Mers; his two children, Matt (Miranda) Mers and Angie (Mark) Mineer; his three grandchildren, Austin Mineer, Skylar (Wesley) Weaver, and Matti Mers; his great grandchild, River David Helterbrand. He is also survived by his brother, Art A. Mers; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four of his brothers, Robert Earl “Bob” Mers, Donnie Mers, Harry Clay Mers, and James Mers.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Martin officiating.
Kenny will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Steve Harn, Jackie Pollitt, Billy Sapp, Keith Lytle, Jamie Hawkins, and Jeff Stephens. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Lytle and Ronnie Helphenstine.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 2, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
