Leonard Lee Rice, Sr., 70, of Maysville, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born in Flemingsburg on August 20, 1952, his parents were the late John Harvey Rice and the late Virginia Foster Rice.
Leonard worked for the Fleming County Slaughter House, the Kentucky Stone Rock Quarry in Flemingsburg, and worked for the City of Flemingsburg for 19 years. He worked for the Flemingsburg Fire Department and Rescue Squad for over 20 years He was a member of the Strawberry United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his two children, Leonard Lee “Bud” Rice, Jr. and Marie Lynn Rice; his four grandchildren, Virginia Sue Rice, Javier Lee Sanchez, Cataleya Marie Sanchez, Ziggy Lynn Lee Rice. He is also survived by two of his siblings, John Kenneth Rice and Connie Rice; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Dale Edward “Hard Rock” Rice and Gary Wesley “Goose” Rice.
Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating.
Leonard will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, at Boone-Nickell.
