Lowell Clayton Prater, 63, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Born in Maysville on March 11, 1957, he was the son of Ernest Gerald Prater and the late Dorothy Lee Lamar Prater.
Throughout his life Lowell was employed at Jerry’s IGA in Flemingsburg, G& W Distributing in Maysville, and Interstate Brands Corporation. Most recently he worked for Napa Auto Parts.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Caren Dawn Curotto Prater; his son, Charles Clayton “C.C.” Prater; his daughter, Shae Lamar Prater; his sister, Carolyn Jean (husband Kenny) Boling; his brother, Rodney Dale Prater; his special aunt, Sandy Prater Kimbler; along with his nephews, cousins, and extended family. He also leaves behind his fur babies, Puff (deceased), Max, Tiger, M.J., Mosh, and Sadie.
Arrangements for Lowell will be privately cared for by Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
Lowell will be laid to rest at Martin Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Malcolm Cassidy, J.R. Logan, Steven Howe, Larry Caudill, Jason Applegate, Ronnie Lamar, and Clay Pollitt.
Funeral service will be live streamed at approximately 2 p.m., on Monday, December 7, and can be found online, www.facebook.com/boone.nickell. Bro. Layne Wagner will be officiating.
