Michelle Gosnell

Michelle Gosnell, 57, of Birmingham, Ala., passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at Ascension Saint Vincent’s Birmingham.

Born in Lexington Ky. on August 20, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Lee Frye and the late Shirley Kay Alderman Frye.

Michelle was known as a person with multiple talents.  She found great enjoyment in wallpapering and painting. She received an associates in management, had worked as a dump truck driver and a school bus driver. .  She had worked at the shoe factory and been a substitute teacher in Kuwait.  She served in the Army Reserves with the 400th General Supply Company in Maysville as an E3.  She had worked as a lab technician for Carmeuse Lime and Stone.  She was very active in her local Nazarene church as a children’s ministry director as well as ministering to the elderly.  She went on several mission trips.  She was a mentor with multiple roles at the Lovelady Center in Birmingham. 

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Atchison Flinn and husband Philip; and four of her siblings, Myra Frye Marshall, Terri Frye Stansell, Eloise Virgin Frye, and Ira Stanley Frye.

In addition to her parents Gilbert and Shirley, Michelle was preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Lee Frye II.

The graveside service for Michelle will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Marty Voiers.

Pallbearers include John David Alderman, Trey House, Brian Alderman, Gib Frye, Anthony Alderman, and John Paul Goss.
