Molly Jo Sloas, 64, of Flemingsburg, passed away peacefully early Sunday, January 16, 2022, at home, amongst family.
Born in Maysville on August 30, 1957, she was the daughter of the late John Hammonds and the late Shella Mae Smoot Hammonds.
Molly was a school teacher at Ewing Elementary. For close to 30 years she taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grade until her retirement in 2008. Following retirement, she easily adjusted to being “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church in Cowan.
Molly poured everything that she was and had into her three sons. She was a living demonstration of selflessness. Her husband considered her his best friend.
She is survived by her husband, Barry Sloas; her three sons, Lincoln (wife Vanessa) Sloas, Thomas (wife Paige) Sloas, and Morgan Sloas; her three grandchildren, Corrine Sloas, Joelle Sloas, and Meghan Sloas; along with many family members, extended family, and great friends.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Pollitt officiating.
Molly will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Boone-Nickell.
